FOXES jodie foster scott baio COMING OF AGE IN L.A. 1980 RARE VHS

Stanley: Now remember, people, don't try looking us up in the phone book. And if Mr. Kincaid answers the phone, don't say anything about buying our movies on eBay. You dig? So listen up! Just in case you're thinking I'm only down with films relating to herb, ladies, and/or the revolutionary black experience, here's one for ya. Foxes. Came out in 1980, and it's the bomb. Yo, Sam, slide me that copy of Foxes, willya?

Sam: As if. I'm not subjecting myself to another one of your favorite movies. What rating scale do you use, how many pretty pairs of tits show their stuff?

Stanley: Heeey, chill, baby, chill, 'cuz you've obviously never seen Foxes. With Jodie Foster, Scott Baio and Randy Quaid? Directed by Adrian Lyne?

Sam: Oh, right, Mr. Kiddie Porn let's re-make Lolita. Like he's ever done anything that hasn't objectified or demeaned women. Flashdance? Fatal Attraction? Basic Fuck?

Stanley: Yo, fuck you, 'cuz one, the name of the movie is Basic Instinct, and two, Adrian Lyne didn't direct it. Get your shit straight. Now as I was saying, this movie right here, Foxes, is a penetrating social documentary-style coming of age story.

Sam: I bet you took that right off the box. Lemme see.

Stanley: Chill! Chill! Foxes is about four 16-year old best girlfriends in LA, ring led by Jodie, and the bullshit they deal with - folks don't care, drugs everywhere, sex, wild parties, busts, hospitalizations, and so forth.

Sam: Sounds like that movie you made us watch last week, Endless Love.

Stanley: Yes! Yes! Another classic coming of age story that just happens to have a pyromaniac as the Romeo! Samantha, I am proud of you. Drawing these connections all by yourself.

Sam: What about The Chicken Chronicles? For awhile you were all into that movie, too. And you know what, Stanley? All these movies have one thing in common - they're about sex, and they feature shots of naked girls' breasts.

Stanley: Yo, there may be a lot of people like me, but there's nobody like me. These movies might be 'bout sex, but they're also 'bout a lot more.

(Emma walks by re-shelving movies.)

Stanley: Emma! Back me up. Why are the movies about teenagers produced in the late seventies so important?

Emma: Duh! They pre-dated the Porky's-fueled rush towards brain-dead, apolitical teenage sex comedies dreamed up by coked-out producers that almost brainwashed an entire generation of Reagan Youth to don't worry, be happy.

Stanley: See? See? That's my girl right here! These flicks were the youth-themed cutting edge of 70's cinema! The golden age, the era when directors were nutting all over themselves trying to make good movies!

Sam: Here we go.

Stanley (ignoring her): Telling real stories, not sweating through the motions and blowing millions just to make a pile of money with the next freaking Jaws or Star Wars! The flicks we're digging on here were afterschool specials for the big screen! Deep movie-making made relevant to Generation X!

Emma: Yeah, lotsa potential spoiled rotten by complete money sellouts. When I think of Foxes, I think, oh, Adrian Lyne. A downhill slide ever since. And he reminds me of Darren Star, from 90210, whose debut screenplay was what?

Stanley: Whoa! Back on track. Foxes is the name of this flick, and it rocks. Scott Baio on a skateboard! Jodie Foster wise beyond her years! The out of control party that wrecks Randy Quaid's bachelor pad after he's cool enough to let his jailbait girlfriend use it while he's away! The super fly 1980 Hollywood Boulevard see-through roller disco fashions on constant display during random scenes of what it's like to be a teen growing up in LA! So let's do it! Bid on this sucker!

You are bidding on a previous rental, used VHS videotape of Foxes (1980), pictured below. Tape comes with original box, is in good condition and guaranteed to play. High bidder pays $3.50 S&H. Credit cards accepted using PayPal.
